O Canada!

My mother has been doing her own "clean sweep" of her home and as a result I have acquired many a box of things from my childhood. Sorting through it the other day I found a document from grade one or two about Canada!  Not bad spelling eh? Enjoy!

I'm proud to be a Canadian citizen because our country is: peaceful, we have clean air, we have beautiful flowers, good health care, we have freedom, good hospitals

What does "citizen" mean?  Citizenship means a member of a country by birth or by choice.

I can be a good Canadian citizen by... not vandalizing, not littering, not stealing, not hurting anybody.

And then I coloured a Canadian flag. My teacher commented: "Wise ideas!"
