Snail's Pace

So I went for a good, long walk today.... after way too much on and off rain all day it was nice to escape outside where it had strangely cleared up-- blue sky, sun on its way setting slowly. And I came across 10 snails. They were all together. And it reminded me of a song that Beth left for me on a Mix CD (note: I LOVE mix CDs) in my car. It's called "Snails" by The Format, and despite some profanity... I enjoy it!

Snails see the benefits
The beauty in every inch
Oh, why, why why why oh why
You're quick to kiss
Baby, maybe, I spoke to soon
I'll touch you once
You make the first move
Snails see the benefits
The beauty in every inch...

7 Weeks Out

And... I'm back. Malawi and Tanzania (including Zanzibar, see above) and a stop over in London, England.

The truth is I don't like taking pictures. So I didn't really take any pictures or know where my camera was for most of the journey. I did have kind friends (e.g. Darren, Jillian) who took photos for me and now have shared their photos with me. I did take the safari shots... that's why they're not as good :) but we did see lions (look closely) and giraffes and elephants (and zebras and wildebeasts not pictured).

Couple neat things about Zanzibar:
1. We were there to show the JESUS Film. And got to see the site of the last open slave market where a church now stands. The picture of me and the cross is in that church and the cross is made with wood from the tree where David Livingstone's heart is buried.
2. There was and still is no power on the whole island. (and little to no running water as a result)
3. Beyonce was on the island "taking pictures" I think this means she was doing a photoshoot, sadly we didn't see her :)
4. I did run into a guy I met from Scotland last spring break-- bizarre!

The Island

I miss 'em already!

And some Safari!

A little more Malawi...

A glimpse of Malawi...

And I'm Off...

Thanks Kirsten and Jill for the sweet send off :)
