Top Five Favourite People of the Week

1. Lee-Ann Briere
2. Holly (Wilson) Pegg
3. Amy Thomas
4. Steph Moss
5. Kirsten Alm/Jesse Haddad

My brother asked me today if I'm drunk all the time. Fact is: I'm not. He asked this in the midst of a giggle fest I was having over him volunteering to go to "Circle R Ranch" on a gr. 8 class trip (he just graduated from teacher's college and it helps to volunteer and I think he really likes the kids). The thing is he's seriously allergic to horses. And I thought that was kinda funny. Also, it's pouring rain. He's scouring my parents house for allergy medicine and a raincoat. It's funny. For the good of the children. It's funny.

So for my top five this week... these ladies are friends from over the years- from age four to twenty four- some of them I've lost touch with but whenever we see eachother whether it's been five days, months or years we laugh like crazy together. Crazy. It's good to have those kinds of friends.

On location: the Forest City

Feeling slightly like I'm "on tour" these days. Arrived in Toronto last night, my dad picked me up at the airport and drove me back to London, my hometown. I was in Banff two days ago, Calgary for all of May. I'm hoping to get to Guelph/Burlington/Toronto area before leaving Ontario. Next I'll head way west: to B.C. ; Vancouver Island, Vancouver and Whistler, before back to Halifax.

My luggage is going to be an issue. I kinda went crazy in Calgary with the less tax and all... thinking of all the things I want to buy all year and buying them right then and there.

I live my life in six week increments.

On the Subject of Kevin Sullivan's 1985 "Anne of Green Gables" series...

Top Five Reasons to make it a Green Gables weekend:

1. Gilbert Blythe.
2. The wonder of Anne. She is too much! Great lines like: "I'm in the depths of despair" and "I'm scared... deliciously scared!"
3. The beautiful scenery of PEI and Southern Ontario.
4. It's so well cast! Colleen Dewhurst, Richard Farnsworth and yes Megan Follows herself!
5. It's a classic story, pure and heartwarming!

Fact: I have visited the bridge (most notable in "The Sequel") in Ontario.

Leaving on a Jet Plane

So I'm heading back east to London, in a few days. It's been a great time out here in Calgary. What I've loved best, besides my team and the fabulous students we've had to work with, has been connecting with old friends!! I'm thankful to have dear friends across the country.

A very special thank you for the video serenade from my small group in Halifax! I miss you all!

Music on the go: Coldplay "A Rush of Blood to the Head", Third Day "Offerings Two", Norah Jones "Sunrise"

Books I'm immersed in: A MillionLittle Pieces, Galatians, Courageous Leadership

Movies I'm crazy about: Pride and Prejudice, Mission Impossible 3, Anne of Green Gables
