At church recently the pastor quoted the new Superman movie... which I was kinda avoiding but now am somewhat intrigued to see...

" You write that the world doesn't need a savior but everyday I hear people crying for one."
-Superman to Lois Lane

Things I like about Superman
1. "Smallville's" Tom Welling and theme song
2. "Jimmy Olsen Blues" Spin Doctors
3. Jokes from comedians Kevin Smith and that guy on Last Comic Standing
4. Remembering my brother pretending he was Superman circa 1984
5. His "Fortress of Solitude"!

Beautiful sunny day in London, Ontario... I'm out walking the dogs... I pass a neighbour and the mailman enjoying beers... it's 11:15 in the morning... but it is Friday.

well... maybe not quite "magnum"... it's "not ready yet" I shouldn't even be blogging about it... and this was all I could find!

Yesterday I did a real serious blog about waiting... it got deleted. Today I caught some "Biography" and it was on Tom Selleck. So that's what I'm blogging about.

I like "Biography"!
Top Five Things I Didn't Know About Tom Selleck:
1. He attended the University of Southern California
2. He was a contestant on "The Dating Game"
3. He was in an episode of "the Young and the Restless"
4. He did a lot of commercial work including cigarettes and "Chaz" cologne... "The way a man should smell: clean"!
5. He was very good to the cast and crew of Magnum P.I.

Ode to Guelph

This past weekend I was in Guelph for a visit. I graduated from the University of Guelph and really enjoyed my time there. It's always been good to go back and visit and I was thankful for the chance to see dear friends and visit familiar spots during my stay. Among my faves... the Greek Garden Cafe, the Arboretum, Calvary Baptist Church and the Bookshelf.

"Shyer" or "Shier" Than You Think...

shy (adj.) = easily frightened; timid
= not at ease with others; bashful
= distrustful; wary

I've been thinking about being shy lately. Generally my demeanor is friendly but cautious when I'm meeting new people, especially in a new group. I like to figure out where I fit or how I fit before I reveal more of myself, relax, etc.

Being back in London though, the shyness is up. I think it's because I continue to see people I maybe kinda knew in high school*, or really didn't know in high school, or their parents (or even close friends from high school's parents) and I'm not sure how to act. Do I say "hi"? Would they remember me? Do I open up: "Hi _______, I'm Kelley from Oakridge"?, is it presumptuous to assume they'd know me? Ahhh awkwardness.

*or elementary school, or teachers, or parents friends...
